3ème Vague is a Brussels-based group, active since 2019. Bringing together artists Léa Tarral, Aurélien Leforestier and Maxime Arnould, it questions the practices of political ecology in the performing arts sector. By political ecology, we do not mean "environmental protection", but the study of a given environment, its modes of production and the impact of capitalist fiction on the art field.

Our interventions tend to give rise to practices, reflections and working tools through performances, publications and encounters between art workers, activists, audiences and institutions. 3ème vague is not a performance project, but a group mobilized around our need for change by proposing alternatives to the habits of our work environment.

The group organized :

– 3ème vague - Les Scélérates: A performance that reactivates artists’ words related to their ecological practices or positions (co-produced by la Bellone - Maison des Arts du Spectacle, La Fabrique de Théâtre (La Bouverie) and supported by CENTQUATRE PARIS, far° Nyon, Théâtre de Poche d’Hédé-Bazouges).

– 3ème Vague − Déformer, Repenser, Poursuivre: a cycle of three meetings between artists, thinkers, audiences and institutions, in May 2022 at La Bellone - Maison des Arts du Spectacle as part of the "I AM WORRIED" series, and various workshops for students, artists and public authorities.

– A website as a resource and documentation center (currently in beta version).

3ème vague is taking shape with the creation of distinct formats, inscribed in a long temporality, which can be activated separately or concomitantly. There is no hierarchy between them.
