With the Human Brush mechanism
L’immonde est immense. Im-Monde is everything that is not the world, everything that lies beneath its surface, beneath its appearances, below its beauty - its apparent beauty. Unworldly, it is only ugly to the eyes of the world. But it is obscure, often invisible. Im-Monde is a relationship to the world. Empty your lungs, let yourself sink under the ground as if it were the bottom of a swimming pool. There, look up and see the world through its feet. Be unworldly and become clairvoyant.
Prefix in- or im- in front of the word ’monde’ (world) = out of the world, everything that is not the world. (As in im-mortal, im-possible, in-accessible, ...) The visual performance of the Human Brush is rearranged for the occasion under the title Im-Monde.
The performance is associated with the installation of Vincent Glowinski’s monumental paintings on refugee migration in the Mediterranean.
