Duo à l’encre

With only a few tools – a table, a desk light, a camera, paper and china ink – Vincent Glowinski tells us a story to the subtle, narrative and sophisticated sound of Teun Verbruggen drums.
As the piece begins, the illustrator dances. It’s not only his brush that moved, his body is also in motion. Here! A spider is on the wall! A spider that looks so much like the ones created by Louise Bourgeois. A spider that is also, in psychoanalysis, the symbol for abusive mothers. There! A ruffled monkey has stemmed from one of the spider’s leg! It’s more a not-fully-formed man than a lame monkey, he’s in the search for himself. It turns into an octopus, agile and organic, almost uterine. You could say that here the artist is exploring our presence to the world, the sense of our Human condition. Following, comes a puppet, a felt heart, a skeleton. As usual, it ends with death; but the dance of life is wonderful.
